San Francisco Ballet’s 2011 Visiting Scholar Doug Fullington, gives a lecture and detailed history of Coppélia. He traces the ballet’s lineage from its origins in France, on into Russia and, finally, over to America, culminating in George Balanchine’s brilliant 1974 production for New York City Ballet.
