Where were you born and raised?
I was born in Saratov, a city which lies on the Volga River. But when I was a young teenager I moved to Moscow to study at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy.

What do you enjoy about San Francisco?
San Francisco is such a beautiful place. I enjoy the mix of nature and city. Since I’m new here, I’m looking forward to exploring it day by day.

What are you looking forward to next Season?
I’m excited for a new repertory. I will be exposed to many works that I never danced at the Bolshoi Ballet.

Turns or jumps?
Plié 🙂

What’s your proudest moment as a dancer thus far?
Personally, my proudest moments include training under some of the best teachers in ballet and working with some of the most accomplished and inspiring choreographers. Hopefully more of these moments are to come in the near future.

Which dancer(s) do you admire?
There are many dancers worth mentioning. But without singling anyone out, I will say that I have a soft heart and immense admiration towards the older generation of great Russian ballet dancers.

Favorite thing to do on a day off?
Honestly, there is nothing better than a few extra hours of sleep in the morning after a long week of dancing. But once I’m up, I run out the door to catch up with friends somewhere around the city. There is always something new and fun to experience.

I love how unique it is. Not many cities change so much between the neighborhoods. The atmosphere along with the weather can be completely different.

What are you looking forward to next Season?
I am looking forward to working with all the wonderful dancers here, they are a group of very inspirational artists.

Turns or jumps?
I love to turn, but nothing beats learning a new jumping trick.

What’s your proudest moment as a dancer thus far?
I have proud moments dancing Romeo, Basilio, and Siegfried with Tulsa Ballet, all of which are roles I dreamed of doing in school. What I find really fulfilling is becoming a character onstage and taking the audience on a journey.

Which dancer(s) do you admire?
There are so many dancers to admire because everyone you watch you can learn from.

I have a dog, so I like to take him on long walks or go to the parks where he can play.
